Temagami Sunset

ART PROMPT - #12 – Use old make-up

Temagami Sunset - make-up painting

So the prompt is to use make-up to make something creative!

When I pulled this prompt, I thought “I don't have any old make-up”. Well guess what?  Don't   I throw anything away!

I was a little worried about not having enough variety of colour, so I did a test of what I had.

It looked like sunset colours to me. Here's my inspiration photo.

I chose a 9" x 12" (140 lb) watercolour paper.

I started by applying tanning make-up as background and using an eyeliner for the trees.  The rubber end on the eyeliner worked great for spreading the black around.

Lip gloss and eye shadow did the rest.

See you next time,

Yes You Can Do It Sampler

The design was in a magazine at the time. Sorry, do not remember which.

The progession each month went like this: Fan Block, Pieced Block, Applique, Lattice and Cornerstones, Borders, Quilt Sandwich, Quilting, Binding, and Show & Tell.

Postcard Fun #3

Six Postcards for one little kit.

These postcards were all made using only a few scraps and couple of pieces of wool.
I posted about making up little postcard kits (see here) with the idea of only using the bits and scraps in the kit.

So here are the results of another fun day.

These are the scraps I used for all 6 postcards:

Cards in order made:

Decided to try one more:

Arranged tiny pieces and covered with tulle before quilting

Turned out to be my favourite and I entered it in the Englehart Post Card Exhibit.
It sold at the Open House.
