Quilt #79

Celebration was the very first quilt for which I won a prize. It was exciting and encouraged me to enter more challenges and competitions.

March 2001, Quilts and other Comforts of North Bay, ON celebrated their 25 year anniversary and issued the Anniversary Quilt Challenge.

This quilt won $250. worth of fabric as the grand anniversary prize.

A purchased kit comprised of the four top pieces of fabric below, three other fabric of your choice could be used to complete your challenge.  The quilt had to be an original design.

The Quilt Challenge Wall hanging winner had to agree to the quilt being donated to The Quilt, A Celebration of Survivors, A Breast Cancer Support Project.

This was a quilt as you go, as each strip was added.  Some stippling was done in the bargello design and fireworks were added in metallic threads.
