Country Hearts 2 |
This was all about playing with raw edge applique. I stitched scraps to a piece of muslin, leaving all the raw edges exposed. Nine hearts were cut from that and applied to squares again leaving the raw edges.
Free form heart |
In this top, I also wanted using different types of fabric designs together - hand dyed, a design of small squares in a grid, stripes and plaids.
The seam
between the inner and outer borders was also stitched backwards to
expose the seam allowance.
Borders, quilting, binding |
What was
left of the panel of stitched scraps was used in the middle of the
back of the quilt. Even the sleeve was pieced from left-overs from the front of the
quilt.
I seemed determined to make use every bit of those left -over fabrics from the quilt top.
