Stitch 9 – Couching
Only one stitch this week
but two samples for TAST with Sharon b. at Pin Tangle.
These are my samples from Week 9 which is the couching stitch.
Sample
1 - Girl with Spooky Eyes.
Couching -Sample 1 |
Started with a sketch, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be to translate in thread.
I
was going to trash this one, but in the end, it is all about learning
to couch different types of threads, ribbon, etc and that I did.
There's a lot wrong with it, especially the eyes which I don't know
how to fix.
Sample
2 – Celtic Circle
I think this one is OK, it was tricky to do as my tracing almost disappeared altogether.

I will link up to TAST at Pin Tangle
Check out all the
beautiful work going on there.
Thanks to Annet for letting me know about damp stretching, I should have figured that out as I always block my quilts, short-cuts don't always work!
Happy Stitching,
Terry

You have shown how different a couched embroidery can look. Both pieces are great. Love the lady's hair.
I like both samplers of couching. I'm glad my advice was helpfull.
