Juried Shows
A lot of exciting things have been
going on in the last little while.
The Northern Ontario Fibre Artists had
a group piece “Seven Create” juried into the Canadian Quilters
Association National Juried Show to be held in St. Catherines in
June.
I will do a separate post on this piece
a little later.
I also had two pieces of my own juried
in Ghost Ship - Ciudad de Inca and Due North were both accepted.

Printmaking
Workshop
This
past week-end, I attended a Printmaking Workshop at the Temiskaming
Art Gallery. A beautiful exhibition by five area printmakers was
being shown at the Gallery.
All
five participated in this workshop in one way or another.
It
was a well organized, with a lot going on at all times.
We
printed by hand as well as on a printing press.
This is my design and the stamp I carved (I changed the background to speed things up):
Original design and carved stamp |
The
printing included embossing, printing one colour and rainbow
roll, adding collage to printing and printing on watercolour.
Here are some of my results:
Embossing on paper |
Blue and black print on paper |
Print on paper collage |
Monoprinting
on plexi was also added to the mix.
Monoprint on paper |
It
was very informative and a lot of fun.

Congratulations on all your accepted entries! I especially like the "Ghost Ship" -- very powerful!
Love Love Love your Ghost Ship and your printmaking! That design would make a lovely art quilt too! Looks like you had a lot of fun with that workshop! Congratulations on the accepted entries!
Congrats on the entries accepted to the shows! That Ghost Ship in particular is amazing! Wow.
Congrats on the acceptance, your pieces are breathtaking, and you merit a place on the winner's podium. The printing class looks like fun, I like your bird very much.
