Ribboned Mood -- In my mind I call it "Tulle Time" |
See previous post here.
This
quilt has been finished for a while but I just have not had time to
blog about it.
I
drew the design on the back, then covered the front with one piece of
tulle at a time and stitched from the back and trimmed.
design drawn on back (pencil) |
I
then added trapunto (2 layers) it's a little more puffy than I
wanted. Sorry, forgot to take photos of trapunto.
I like this orientation better, but it can be hung either way.
The
back complete with hanging slat and label
Quilt measures 38" x 15".
My
“plan” has changed again! I like to call it a “plan” rather
than rules. I don't seem to follow rules very well.
See
you next time,
Terry

I love seeing these prompts and how you challenge yourself. Where are you getting these prompts from?
I'm really enjoying the challenge of coming up with something creative using the prompts.
It's inspiring me to try totally different things which is what I was hoping for.
See my first "Art Prompt" post re: the prompts here:

Very interesting work! Love your quilting!!
What a great piece! It all works together so well. And I like the way you added the wood slat. Thanks for sharing your process.
Hi Terry - Hilary Florence here. You were kind enough to leave me a comment on my blog about Sidetracked. Unfortunately I could not reply to you directly as you are a no reply blogger. I don't know if you were aware of that, but it is often the case if you also use google plus.
To answer your questions - the piece is about 15" x 45". It was on of those happy pieces that just fell into place. There wasn't much planning involved at all. The background was an experiment in creating more texture in white quilting and once it was done it just cried out to me for a strip in neutrals - which I did and it worked. So the 'tracks' were created to go with the background.
One advantage for me of you being a no-reply blogger is that I have found your blog! I knew as soon as I saw ribboned moon that I was going to like your work - and indeed I do. I am going to have fun by going back to have a look at 7 create - and I will be sure to pop over again to see what you are up !
All the best
Hilary Florence
Your work is always stunning, this is certainly no exception. Really beautiful. Are you not finished with it?
