October Challenge - Teri Lucas |
This is my sample for Teri Lucas' s Challenge for October 2012 FMQ Challenge at Insights from SewCalGal.
I
started with drawing a sketch.

Teri
suggested silk with cotton and wool batting, all of which I had, so I
made my sandwich, marked my square and gathered up as many different
kinds of threads that I thought would work for this project. I
changed thread with each design but used Bottom Line only in the
bobbin.

Here's a
couple of close-ups:
Teri
suggested using the rest of our piece for further experimenting, so I
did a practice run of a feather design that I want to use on a quilt
I'm currently quilting.
I tried some echo quilting on one side but did not care for it.

This is Diane Gaudynski's design that she calls Diane-shiko which I just love doing it and really like how it sets off other designs.

Gorgeous feathers! Your wiggly leaf design is very pretty as well!
Great job again Terry. Your free motion quilting is fantastic!
