Seashell Cosmos

Quilt # 105

Seashell Cosmos
This is the photo that I took in my garden and the inspiration for this quilt.

Seashell Cosmos was an experiment using a technique that I believe is called Appliquilt.

Here's a couple of close-ups:
applique using blindstitch
All the pieces are fused to the background, then the quilt sandwich is made and the applique is stitched in place and the whole thing is quilted at the same time.

backgroung quilting and binding
The quilting design is from Leah Day called Roots.

I use ExtravOrganza for a lot of my labels on wallquilts,  it is attached to paper that goes through the printer.   Just print, remove and iron on.
